“Hey Haley, how do I know when it is time to raise the price of my course or membership site?”

So, you have been putting in a ton of work to your course or membership and adding lots of great content. You think it is time to raise the price of your course because the “Value” has gone up?

Here’s my opinion on raising the price of your course or membership site.

Our industry, for some reason, wants to raise the price on everything because they believe that if they raise the price they are going to make more money. So, people are raising their prices right now on their course or membership sites because of how they perceive the value of their course and how much time they spent in it.

How much time you put into your course or membership site is completely irrelevant.

There. I said it.

It’s your job as a course creator to create an amazing course. To provide quality content in your course is your job.

More Content Does Not Mean Higher Price

Just because you add more content doesn’t mean your course is more valuable. In fact, from the perspective of a potential student, it will still look the same.

What matters most is how your potential customer from your webinar will perceive the value of your course. This is how you get more students to join your course of membership site. If they perceive more value, they will be more likely to buy.

Your focus needs to be on the perception of value rather than focusing on adding more to your course in order to raise the price. Of course you can always be adding to your course or membership to make it better and provide more value to your students, but you should not be doing it under the perception that you will then need to charge more. Your focus should be on getting more leads and adding to the perception of value up-front in your webinar so students will be more likely to join.
